On a triangular lot in Costa Rica’s Atlantic region, the AP House is located—a set of one-bedroom apartments with laundry facilities and kitchenettes designed for 1-2 people. All the apartments are housed under a large spanning roof.
The interstitial spaces between the volumes and the louvers in the laundry areas allow for cross-ventilation, which is particularly beneficial in humid regions. The construction is lightweight, using fiber cement panels, and is elevated on stilts to keep the living spaces dry. All units share a deck with a pool, serving as a social space for relaxation and recreation.
